The Economy Is Strong

Or so says George W. BushCiting the current unemployment rate of 5.2 percent and "all-time high" home ownership, Bush said the economy was "strong" but needed help from Congress.
"Our economy is strong, but we need to work together to make sure that we continue to have a prosperous economy," said Bush.
However, as David Lazarus writes in yesterday's San Francisco Chronicle, Bush's view of the economy is one which is, at best, one-sided.

Yet Another Message for Wal-Mart-Shopping Liberals, which scrolled off of the page at the speed of light.
I made my comment after the diary had already scrolled off of the page. I thought this would make a decent diary, I think this issue is important, and so posted my comment as a diary.

First off, let me say that I have never been in a WalMart, and I will never go in a WalMart. I totally hate this company. But we will blame WalMart for what is a larger systemic issue in this country at our own peril.

Is it just me, or does the term itself have a greasy sound?
While I am certain that there is some small number
of Washington lobbyists that are simply in it to make the world a better place,
it is my belief that the overriding majority would, if pressed, admit that they are subscribers
to a code of conduct which falls somewhere between the eviction attorney and the repo man.
